Always there for Ann Arbor.

Since 1857, Hutzel has served Ann Arbor — first with hardware and tools, and soon after with plumbing, heating, and cooling. As the city grew, so did we. When people needed new services, we learned the latest technologies and delivered the newest innovations: hot water, air conditioning, modern sewer systems, and more. Yes, we’ve truly been here that long. We’ve witnessed remarkable change, but one thing hasn’t changed: our commitment to serving the people of Ann Arbor.

It’s why we’re proud to be Your Longest Serving Neighbor.

Heating and Boilers

Steam showers, warming racks, radiant floor heating, yes, please.

We’ve seen plumbing and hot water come a long way since claw-foot tubs and coal-fired boilers. To keep up with all the advances, our technicians learn from the manufacturers how to install and service the latest gas furnaces, boilers and ductless mini split systems.

Iced tea and lemonade can only go so far.

When the heat rises, so does our service. Today’s cooling systems require frequent inspection and maintenance to run optimally. Our technicians know how every part was made to operate and can recommend the best solutions to keep you cool.

It’s not going to be a good day when a long-awaited appliance installer says ‘I’m sorry, but you’re going to need a plumber…this gas line is so bent, it’s about to snap. Super dangerous. We can’t touch it.” I called Hutzel immediately, and within literally 15 minutes Chet pulled up in his truck, while Best Buy was still at the house. He fixed the line, rushed back to the shop for dryer tubing, installed the gas dryer, and even cleared a bathroom drain while he was here.
